Weekend Report
What a weekend. It was filled with activity and a pretty acute (and surprising) hangover.
It all started at 5:30 Saturday morning when Hubby and I woke up. I then dropped Hubby off at Fado around 6:15 for an “Irish” breakfast. I made my way back home to get a few things taken care of before I left for my mom’s. I believe he stayed at the bar until I called him to tell him he had to go home (about 11:30.)
I traveled down to my mom’s house. We spent a good amount of time cleaning up her garden from the winter carnage. We did a lot of talking, something we usually do in these types of situations. I’ve been taking in a lot of advice about work lately. I seem to keep doing the “wrong” things and irritating people because I don’t understand what’s going on. I don’t know that it is really anyone’s fault per-se, I feel that the situations are caused by my lack of experience and knowledge in the area they want me to support now. That and the fact they will not listen to what I tell them. They, my manager specifically, makes sweeping assumptions about what I know without ever really checking to see.
Regardless, I think I have a better understanding of what I need to do now. Now it’s just timing.
Mom and I had a great time cleaning up the garden. I know it makes her feel a lot better to have that kind of stuff taken care of. We then took off to pick up her fiend for high tea. The tea was really wonderful, though we had to wait as they were running behind. I have a good feeling that is where my hangover came into play. We got free champagne because they were running late.
We had a lot of fun with the tea, talking and laughing. It was a fun afternoon.
Then I returned home to find Hubby and two of his friends drinking and playing the Wii. We continued in this vein until 12:30 or so that night. No, I wasn’t drinking that much, I only had one beer! That’s why I think the hangover came from the champagne…
Sunday was a pretty relaxing day. We did clean up and I went to write at the café.
Needless to say, we were both in bed early last night.
