Video Game Junkie

I am a video game Junkie.
I didn’t use to be this way.  If anything I shunned the very idea of playing video games for hours on end.  Seriously – there are so many better ways to spend your time.  This is what I ALWAYS thought, until now.
It all started with the Nintendo Wii.  Damn those Nintendo geniuses who invented controllers that even the most inept person can use.  Hubby and I have spent hours playing games together, getting new games and exploring them.  Which is fine, playing games with someone is totally cool.
Then came the Sims.
Sims is this totally adorable, cute game.  You play a character whose main goal is to rebuild a town and make people happy.  You run around decorating, making people furniture, building people houses, planting trees and exploring the little world that gradually opens up to you.  The characters are cartoons, the colors bright and the music sickeningly sweet.
I love every minute of it.
So far I have spent over thirty hours playing this game.  I think about my characters when I am not playing.  Things like, “I know, so and so needs a new couch!” pop into my head.  I’m currently mulling over where to move some of the characters so they might be happier.
Now, I haven’t gone so far as to make a list of my characters and plot out where I would like to move them.  I was thinking yesterday that it would be great to put together a plan of what I’d like to do next.  When I had that urge, to put more into the game than I really should, I stopped playing.  Didn’t hurt that Hubby wanted a turn…
