Stuff
Every Morning
Everyday I order the same thing from the same person at Starbucks.
Everyday. I get a grande drip with extra room and a chonga bagel with cream cheese. Everyday. I’ve been doing it for almost 3 months now. Everyday the guy looks at me and tries to figure out what I am going to order. Everyday he gets it wrong.
Yesterday Morning
The conversation went something like this:
Boss Lady (BL): Let’s have a staff meeting! I’m on vacation the rest of the week!
BL to Co-Worker 1(CW1): CW1, what are you working on?
CW1: Oh I have lots to do, I writing processes, procedures and standards!
BL to Me: AG, what are you up to?
Me: Nothing really.
BL: Nothing?
Me: Nope
BL: What about X?
Me: Well, they can’t decide what the requirements are for X. Until they decide I can’t do any work on it.
BL: Hmmm, what about Contractor set-up?
Me: Oh, well, you determined that someone else has to set up the location, access and computer stuff, so really there isn’t anything for me to do. Except billing, and since they aren’t here and we haven’t decided how to track billing, there isn’t anything for me to work on.
BL: What about Y?
Me: The contract for Y hasn’t been signed.
BL: Huh. (Turning away from me) So, Co-Worker 2, what are you working on?
And that was that.
Parade
The Fremont Solstice Parade is in 3 days. We practiced for 2 hours last night. It’s finally starting to come together and getting really exciting. It cracks me up though; I have the same nervous jitters in my stomach as I did last year. Oh, this is going to be FUN!
