Randomness
My Mormon name is Young Elizabeth Dominiqua!
What’s yours?
Elevator Fun!
Yesterday I was in the elevator on my way to lunch. When I entered there was only one other person in the car. He quickly pushed the “Door Close” button as soon as I entered. He also appeared to be on his cell phone; at least he seemed completely engrossed in what ever he was doing. About halfway down to the first floor he lets out a cry of, “That’s what I need! Gray Socks!” I glanced at him to find him staring at my feet. I was wearing gray socks to match my gray pants yesterday.
Google
Out of pure boredom I Googled on my name today. Usually when I do this I get a bunch of entries for someone with the same name who got married in 1846. This time my name came up in reference to me personally. I was even more excited to find that it referenced my two player of the game awards from Kickball last year. GO ME! (though mom says this is because I’ve been to the page before…
)
Office Lady
It’s been awhile since I commented on the lady who sits across from me. I have been trying to be better about thinking mean thoughts and trying to be more forgiving. After all everyone has a fault. But I am beginning to wonder about her upbringing, mainly about her room as a child. Perhaps she had too much structure as a child and is now lashing out. Unfortunately the lashing out is spreading into the walkway between our cubes and causing people to trip over all the crap she leaves spread on the floor. To top it off, there was a small landslide as the paper on her desk attempted an escape by sliding onto the floor. I really didn’t want to laugh as she tried to clean the MOUND of paper the landslide caused. I pretended not to notice, just I pretend not to notice anything that goes on over there. I feel like I should have helped, but really I don’t think there would have been room for me…
Good Decision
Yesterday I received confirmation that I made the right decision to move groups. I have two monthly meetings that I create meeting packets for. Every month I am complimented on my meeting packets. What can I say? I am the queen of collation.
Anyway, the guy who has taken over these meetings stopped by my desk to tell me that the Man in Charge wants more information in the monthly packets. Curious about the quantity I did the math. Currently the packet has ~45 pages a month. It never goes below 40, but we will use 45as the number. He wants to add ~10 pages of information for 25 projects. That’s 250 pages added to each meeting package. Huh. Multiply that by the 30 copies I have to make for this meeting and you have, oh I don’t know, 8,850 pages of copying for one meeting.
Huh.
And he said I was going to be more than just a copy girl. Somehow I just feel vindicated in making the decision I made.
