Pants!
I’m slightly embarrassed to say that my pants no longer fit. I’m not
usually one of “those” people that walks around in ill-fitting clothes, my
mom taught me better than that! But I am one of those people that generally
gains weight instead of losing it, and I gave up the battle of constant
weight worry awhile ago. Though it bugged me I was overweight, I realized
that it didn’t bug me enough to change my life style. If I want to eat
crazy fattening foods, I was going to do it.
I kind of noticed that I was losing weight. The new house has brought a
change to our eating habits and we walk further to the bus, and with all the
yard work, the stairs, well you get my drift. I’ve been burning a few more
calories. It wasn’t really bothering me though. I noticed my pants were
looser, but I figured that was a good thing.
Last week it became apparent that I needed new pants. So utterly, clearly
apparent because I had to actually HOLD UP my jeans as I walked down the
street. They were literally falling off my hips, making it really hard for
me to walk.
So I started the search for pants. I measured myself and bought some stuff
online - following the sizing charts closely.
The pants came and didn’t fit.
Because I didn’t want to spend one more Friday holding up my pants, I
decided to head to Gap to search for jeans. I thought they might have the
size I was looking for and I generally have good luck with the way Gap’s
pants fit. So I hustled there on my lunch break and spent a good chunk of
time picking our pants a size smaller than what I’ve been wearing for the
last year or so.
None of them fit. NONE of them. Nothing. Everything was too big.
Completely shocked, I put on my other clothes and headed back into the
store. Picking up a few items 2 sizes smaller than what I have been
wearing.
This time everything fit. And I looked good.
I’m definitely going back for more!
