Pants!

More specifically ruffle pants.  They are part of my costume in the Fremont Solstice parade this year. 

I’d seen these beautiful pants on Etsy by Kathleen Crowley and I love them!  But they are so beautiful and expensive...and not really the colors for the parade.  So I decided to try my hand at making my own

What you see me wearing used to be a pair of capri pants, a ruffled skirt and a sun dress.  Now refashioned into ruffle pants with matching short skirt and a little summer top!  I won’t be wearing the top in the parade - it doesn’t give enough support.  But it sure is cute!  Plus I am in the Khaleegy string so we will be wearing thobes.  Khaleegy is a specific type of belly dance - very feminine.  The thobes are similar to a caftcan only they have big sleeves and are usually highly decorated for show.

They took quite a bit of work to put together and they were a great learning experience for me.  I’ve really learned a lot about sewing since I got my machine.  I’m loving all the things I get to create!
