And, I’m Back!

Well, to you I never left.  But to my workgroup I did.  I had going away drinks, a going away lunch and got a going away present.  I left early on Friday, feeling a little sad at the fact that I wasn’t going to be working with or around this group anymore. 
This morning I went to my new cube and unpacked most of my stuff.  I got everything settled and went to plug in my computer only to realize that the network jacks at my new cube had been turned off.  This means no connection to anything work related.
So, after spending a good 90 minutes getting settled, I had to pack my laptop and a few belongings and trudge back to my old cube, with my old group, to get to work.
The return was not as painful as I thought it might be, but it still sucked to come back.  What was even worse is the fact that the new bosses don’t have a clear plan on what I will be doing going forward.  I’ll just have to sit tight and see.
By the way – the off cycle salary increase was declined.  Here’s to hoping they can do something really nice for me at year end!
