Ahhh…
After 4 stressful days at work this week, where I seem to be dodging political bullets left and right, I decided the last place I wanted to be tonight was on the water. On the water trying to help set up the boat with 5 to 7 other people trying to set up the boat while keeping pace with some yahoo in the front who knows just as much about rowing as I do. Which is very little.
Instead I opted for option 2. I opted to take a night to myself. No rowing, no boyfriend, no people, not even television. All I wanted was a nap. So I came home and crawled into bed. It was glorious.
After I woke up I thought of Maggie on the cold water of Lake Union and decided to take a bath in her honor. A nice warm, hot bath filled with sea salts and fragrant oil. I brought my book along, in case I felt like reading. It was lovely.
It was lovely until Wonder Kitty came in. Wonder Kitty has long been interested in water, particularly in the shower. She will stand between the shower curtain and the liner while I am taking a shower. She has sort of fallen in a couple of times, but nothing serious has ever happened. When I exit the shower she enters and plays to her heart’s content.
Tonight she was curious about the bath. Usually she just sits on the side of the bath and looks down at the water. Sometimes she will tentatively put a paw on my knee as if she is going to cross my legs or something. She never does. Tonight she was a little more curious, she began walking around the rim of the tub. She got to the far side, where the rim is significantly narrower, and found she was stuck. She tried to back up, but started slipping on the water. I skootched myself up a bit and waited to see what would happen. Sure enough, Wonder Kitty fell in the tub! I laughed and laughed! Silly Kitty.
She’s still upset. She won’t sit still because she’s all wet and can’t figure out what to do about it.
Ahhh… the joys of stupid cats
