Ah, Sunday night

Ah, the relaxation that is Sunday night.  It’s like the calm after the storm before the next storm.
The last storm was Saturday night in Fremont.  We went down to one of the bars there to watch a couple of local bands.  It was actually really fun, with one exception.  We stayed to watch two bands play.  Well, one was a solo acoustical guitar player; the other was a band that included two sax players.  The guitar player was amazing.  His singing wasn’t that great, but the way he played…man.  It was mesmerizing.  He played for about an hour and proved over and over how much he really loved and knew his instrument.  I would go and see him again in a heartbeat.  The second band that played was REALLY loud.  They were fun to listen to – but I think I would have been able to appreciate them more if they weren’t so loud.  It was fun none the less.  I had a great time.
I worked on packing the rest of the weekend.  It has been really hard to pack because of the heat.  I’m having serious problems keeping the motivation to just move.  Let alone pack my entire apartment.  I think I’ve made progress, but man!  I still have a TON to get done.  At least I have one more weekend to gather more boxes and get it finished.
On that note, we’ve decided to spare our friends and ourselves and hire movers.  YEAH!  It’s so cool to think that we’ll have people coming to help us that do this for a living.  No more guessing about what should go first; they will be able to answer all of that for us.
I’ve discovered something else during this whole packing extravaganza…audio books.  Freeman first got one for us to listen to together.  I grabbed the new Harry Potter thinking I would find some time to listen to it.  I’ve been listening as I’ve been packing (or lying on the floor with the cat in the direct line of the fan wishing the heat would let up.) It’s been really cool!  (No pun intended…) Its fun to have something to listen to that isn’t mindless music.  I get to use my imagination and think about the story as I am packing.  Or lying on the floor.
The next storm starts again tomorrow.  Work has been building to a frenzied level.  So much that I am starting to feel overwhelmed.  It will work itself out as we develop habits and processes, but right now everything is chaos.  It’s fun and challenging and I love it.  People keep looking to me to do things, come up with answers, and fulfill their needs.  I feel like I have finally found a workplace that fits.
