Not Ideal…
I’ve noticed a new phenomenon when I do laundry. When the washer dumps the dirty water the toilets gurgle. Yesterday they didn’t just gurgle. Yesterday it wasn’t just the toilets. Yesterday our bathtubs filled with nice dirty sewer water.
Hmmm...I think we have a problem…
We called a plumber out - he attempted to snake the line but to no avail. He then gave us one option - dig a 5 foot hole in our neighbor’s yard (where our sewer pipe runs) and fix it from there. He also gave us a crazy estimate with no underlying information. Huh.
Needless to say, we’re calling other people to see what they have to say about this. The guy felt slimy and even though we’ve already given him a small truckload of money, neither of us really want to deal with him moving forward. It just felt wrong.
If you know a good plumber - let me know!

Monday Morning
After a weekend full of relaxation and Tequila - I am feeling better.
The relaxation was needed, mostly mental/emotional relaxation. My emotions have been running high and I have felt myself constantly on edge.
I had a discussion with my manager about this last week - about my emotional state. Not something I usually bring up at work but nothing is usual about our current situation. I told her the truth, that I am having a difficult time coming to work. Not DOING the work - the work is fine. But physically coming into the office, stepping into a building filled with angry and depressed people, is getting harder every day. I asked for a compromise. I asked for a break.
She was more than willing to give it to me. We’ve agreed that I will be working from home at least 2 days a week for the foreseeable future. Subject to change, of course, if we need to. But in the current climate, the current environment, I can stay home when I need to.
This is such a relief. I can’t even tell you how nice it is to know, KNOW, that my boss is supportive in this way. It took most of the weekend to realize just how much this was actually effecting me, but when I woke this morning and realized I wouldn’t have to come in tomorrow...it was nice.
The Tequila drinking was for a good cause as well. I’m taking a belly dance performance class and the theme of the class is performing to a scent. Basically you take a scent, say Lavender, and you research it. You find out all about it, what its meanings are, etc. Then you find music that makes you think Lavender, you put together a costume that makes you think of Lavender and you perform. This year we convinced my Teacher to do something different. This year we’re doing it cafe style and dancing to drinks and desserts. I decided on Tequila. Because I love tequila.
So Saturday night I made tequila drinks in an effort to find the right one for my dance. I’ve narrowed it down to two - but they are basically the same. Blue Margarita and Malibu Wave. I need to go over the Blue Margarita’s ingredients to see if that is something I can easily prepare - if not I’m going with the Malibu Wave. The blue of both drinks goes with my costume too! Yeah!
So - a much longer post than what I’ve been doing. But I am starting to feel better. Helps that Spring is well on it’s way and the flowers and trees are starting to bloom. It’s interesting to see what’s coming up in the yard. Yay!

At the park
We decided to go for a walk in the park today
It’s pretty away from the people and wind.
