Happy Birthday Hubby!

Today is Hubby’s birthday. His mom and her husband came down for some yummy taqueria food at Huarachitos. We told the owners that it is Hubby’s birthday and the chef ran out and got him an ice cream cake!
It was great to have the owners and the cook talking and eating cake and singing birthday wishes.

So Much Stuff…

My office is closing, which is sad.  Even sadder is the massive amount of STUFF that we have.  Boxes and boxes filled with 3 ring binders, paper trays, drawer organizers.  We’ve got bags and bags full of staplers, stapels and staple removers.
I’m working to get some non-profits here to pick this stuff up.  So far I haven’t had the best of luck - but I keep trying.
Seriously - we have a closet full of supplies that hasn’t been touched in over two years.  And when I say it’s a closet full, I mean 30 plus boxes.

As people leave we just keep getting more.  At first it seemed totally do-able.  Get a non-profit or two and they would have a field day.  But now the boxes are piling up, because people aren’t coming, and it’s starting to get overwhelming.

I may just have to bring in a car and take this stuff somewhere myself.  There is so much...I just hate to see it go in the trash.

Another shot

Another picture of the fire sculptures at the fire festival. The flames on this one got larger and smaller in time to the music.

There were a bunch of fire dancers as well, but I didn’t get any good pictures of them. It was a fun night!

Friday Night Bus Ride

After work yesterday, I met Hubby and Lance at a local pub for some Friday night fun before we headed home. On the way home a man got on the bus that was clearly out of his mind. He was talking in gibberish, wailing.  It wasn’t scary, the man was harmless. But it was sad to see.He sat down next to me.
He started talking to me and Hubby and I were laughing at and with
him. Then the bus driver tried to kick him off the bus. The man
settled down, and I did my best to keep him calm so the guy could get where he was going.
He did end up getting kicked off the bus, he just couldn’t keep from wailing loudly.
After he was kicked off several people on the bus told Hubby and I
that they were amazed at how I acted, with kindness and understanding.Funny, I never thought twice about treating the man humanly and trying to help him get where he needed to go. Life is hard enough, I don’t need to make it worse.
