Good Morning!
I went to a bellydance show last night and got home pretty late. Hubby decided to skip the show and I went with my friend C and her husband. It was a good show, high energy and fun.
We went to dinner first and the show was in one of the neighborhoods Hubby and I are thinking of looking at for a new home. It was fun to visit another neighborhood and get a small taste of the night life.
I woke this morning to the rich smell of fresh brewed coffee. Hubby
was up and ready to go. We’ve since been planning our upcoming trip to Florida. Or, I should say, Hubby has been planning the trip and I have been sitting in my chair sipping coffee and listening to NPR while agreeing to all the marvelous plans he’s making for us.
Now we’re off to the store to get bagels for breakfast.
I love the weekend!

He Cheated!
Even though Hubby and I agreed NOT to get each other anything, he bought me flowers!
They are SO beautiful, I can’t take a single picture to do them justice.
The Love
Hubby and I don’t really celebrate Valentines day. As a general rule, we feel most holidays have been commercialized beyond recognition. We actually heard on the radio that married men are supposed to spend
$200 on their wives for this “holiday.” We looked at each other and shook our heads. With stories like that people still wonder why this county is in debt?We both agreed not to spend large amounts of money
on this silly holiday.
This doesn’t stop Hubby from doing incredibly sweet things to show the love.
This year he picked up a delicious heart shaped cookie for us to share. Its all about the love!

Award Winner
Every year my corporation gives out excellence awards. This year, yours truly won one of those awards.
Excited doesn’t even begin to explain the way I feel about this. That I was recognized for work that my former boss underrated and marginalized only made the award sweeter.
It does feel a little strange to be congratulated by people who know nothing of what I did to deserve the award. My new group is full of supportive people, who are happy for me and happy to have an award winner as part of the team. But they don’t know what I did, the effort and hours I put in to make my former project a success. The time and effort I spent in creating training materials and training folks to use a new system. I think about where I was this time last year and how far I have traveled from that point. It’s been a journey!
With this award comes more than recognition. I’m also getting a $1000 gift certificate. I’m really looking forward to that part of the award! Lest you think I’m dreaming of new shoes, I actually am dreaming of refrigerators, washers and dryers. Hubby and I are going to start house hunting in March and I think this $1000 will come in handy with a new place!

Dear Irritating Man
Your days are numbered. For this reason (and only this reason) I will tolerate the fact that you constantly chew with your mouth open in such a fashion that I can hear you from several cubes away.
Knowing that your contract is up in two months, and will not be renewed regardless of what you and your cronies beleive, makes your bad manners almost tolerable.
Well, now that I think about it, your bad manners are not tolerable. But at least you stopped eating breakfast in the morning meeting…
