Getting to be a habit?
For the second Thursday on a row I find myself at an Irish pub drinking Guinness.
Last week it was drinks with Nessa. This week we’re celebrating a career change for one of the local bartenders who is moving on to follow a music career.
I wish him the best of luck and raise my glass to all the hopeful people working to make their dreams come true.

And then she slept…
You may be wondering what I did with the rest of the glorious three day weekend. The long and short answer is: I slept. I slept until 9am on Sunday. I took a two hour afternoon nap. I went to bed early Sunday night. I slept until 8:30 on Monday and took another mid-day nap that day as well. We went to bed at 8:30pm.
I think I’ve been pushing and pushing myself these last two weeks and this had caused several levels of exhaustion. Being very sick did not help at all, but it added to the wake up call I needed to understand what was happening.
The project that I am has a PM leading that is one of “those” PM’s. The kind that is unorganized and seems to feed off of frenzy. Instead of calmly attempting to resolve problems, she runs around with high emotion and intensity.
Exactly how I used to run my whole life.
But now, after knowing how wonderful things can be when people are calm and collected, I don’t want to go back. I don’t want to experience the intensity of emotion that she brings with her everywhere she goes. I’d rather just not do that.
I’ve only been in this position for a few months. Part of me seriously wonders if I made the correct choice. Of course I am always wondering that about my jobs…
Regardless, I don’t want to get on the high emotion, high intensity train. I think I’ll skip that one.

Seen in Seattle
I was walking downtown and happened to see this woman standing on the corner. I was just quick enough to get a picture from behind- but I wish I’d been fast enough to get a clearer shot.
She’s got leg warmers, tights and short blue shorts on. On top she was wearing a button down shirt, an oversized sweater and fingerless gloves. What you can’t see are the large black sunglasses and scarf wrapped in her hair.
She looked like she stepped straight out of an 80’s fashion mag!
