Not so fast…

Apparently what was affecting me yesterday had nothing to do with allergies.  Apparently I have some sort of spring cold that comes complete with fevers, body aches, sneezing and coughing, along with watery eyes and a stuffy head.  And to top all that off, the constant blowing of my nose has left it red and chapped.  Yippee!
I knew I was in trouble when sitting on my couch yesterday I found myself shivering.  I thought, “Wow it must be really cold in here.” I looked up at the thermostat and it was 72 degrees in my living room.  I think someone was running a fever….
Hubby was nice enough to bring me chicken soup for dinner – it tasted like manna from heaven.  It was so good!
I’m feeling better today. Not a ton better, but good enough to be awake and sitting upright.  At least the fever has broken!

What the heck bloomed?

That’s all I really want to know.
I had a great weekend, the sun was shining and I got a little tan.  We had our last kickball game and won!  I worked on my costume for the Solstice parade in two weeks.  We puttered around the house and played with the cats.
Then last night, about 2 am, something went terribly wrong.  Something bloomed and my allergy medicine wasn’t covering me for it.
I’ve been sneezing, blowing my nose and drying up tears from my watery eyes ever since.  I can’t remember the last time I had an attack like this.  (It was probably last year sometime, I always forget these episodes.)
I kind of want to go home and sleep it off.  But I know what ever is blooming in lurking outside and really I am much better off in the climate controlled, filtered air environment of my work place.  Either that or my Xterra with the wonderful hepa filter system.
I checked out Pollen.com for the pollen counts.  They are pretty low, but it did say that Alder trees have started blooming.  Interestingly enough, the site states that if you are allergic to one type of Alder you are automagically allergic to all types.  Grasses are blooming too.  It’s probably the grasses that are getting me.  Stoopid grass.
