To the Left, To the Left…

All I want to do is turn my head to the left.  Currently that does not seem to be possible.  I woke up yesterday all gung-ho work out and get a jump start on my day.  I got up, played with the kitties for a little while (this is a morning ritual for me now, the kitties demand some love first thing in the morning) and got to workin’ out.  I started with a little warm up and moved into stretching.  At some point I did something terribly wrong because I can no longer turn my head to the left.
I’m certain I just pulled something, I probably moved a little more enthusiastically than I should have.  My mind was more awake than my body.
It’s gotten better today – yesterday I couldn’t bend down at all and even slight movements to one side or the other were painful.  This morning I can bend down and turn my head pretty far to the right.  Just not to the left.

Consequences of Drinking Too Much…

You end up posing next to a drag queen at a Roller Derby Bout…

Hubby just missed the photo op of us “air kissing.”

Doin’ what I love…

I’ve been doing some of the work that I LOVE to do today.  I have a team member whose desk was out of control and I spent, oh 20 minutes or so, organizing it with her.  In 20 minutes time we completely cleared her desk of all paper and “stuff” that she no longer needed and organized some files of stuff she needs but doesn’t look at often.
It was the best 20 minutes of work I’ve done all week.
I love organizing things.  Files, papers, people’s stuff.  I find it infinitely satisfying to tackle a pile of junk and make sense out of it.  I’ve often thought I would be perfect for one of those home improvement shows like “Clean Sweep.” Asking the tough questions and throwing logic in the material possession issue.
What a fun morning…now it’s back to real work.

It’s Over!

The Fremont Solstice Parade is done for another year.  The day turned out to be beautiful and sunny, at least for the parade.  I even got a little sunburn.
The parade itself was okay.  I tend to agree with my mom that my dance teacher has lost her mind a bit.  She decided to build a pyramid in the parade, and though it turned out well, she focused so much time and energy on it that she didn’t put the energy into the dancers like she normally does.  We spent a lot of time standing in front of the audience and boring the heck out of them.  Mom’s comment, “It just wasn’t that entertaining, other groups did a lot more dancing while your troupe just stood there.”
I tend to agree.
I’m thinking of dropping off an anonymous note to the studio telling them how I felt.  It’s been a lot more fun in years past.  And I missed last year, but if it was like this last year I don’t question that people weren’t willing to do it again.  I’d be hard pressed to join the parade if all I am doing is standing in front of people, blocking their view and feeling stupid.  We’re a dance troupe after all – let’s dance!
So – my big event for the summer is complete.  It’s all fun and games, beer festivals and rafting trips from here until November sometime.
I love Summer.

So Easy

Every interview should be as easy as the one I just had.  Where you walk into a room and the interviewer instantly recognizes your brilliance and wants to move you to the next phase.
That’s my kind of interview!
