Weekend Camping…
I would call it a “camping trip” if that was what it was! It wasn’t, though, it was something entirely different.
Hubby has some friends who bought a house last year. Their back yard is huge and they decided to have a back yard campout last year. The camp out comes with a little competition. Last year we decorated any way we wanted to. This year the theme was chosen for us.
This year’s theme was “white trash”
As soon as he heard it, Hubby knew he had the competition won. And boy did he:
Our “tent” was a beat up old blue tarp that he pulled out of his mm’s back yard. There are three metal posts holding it up. What you can’t see in this picture is the tire on the back holding the tarp down. I added the decorations.
This is a picture of the next morning:
See all the “white” stuff all around the yard? Yeah, that’s stuffing from a couple of stuffed animals that we had brought with us and ripped the heads off. The dogs got a hold of them and ran wild “killing” the teddy bear and teletubby!
I would say it was a successful weekend…even if I was still recovering yesterday!

Work Related…what?
I wrote a few posts ago about “Mr. Pissy Pants” and how he was getting on my nerves. The day I got back from my honeymoon I was greeted by a note during a meeting, “Do you know when the re-org is happening?”
Hmmm….
Having been out of the office for a week and out of touch for almost two, I had not heard of the re-org. I had a feeling it was coming, the writing was on the wall and had been for awhile, but I had no specifics. A few more people dropped some hints about what was coming, so I did what any person would do.
I asked my boss.
He wasn’t surprised that I knew and attempted to not tell me what was happening, but in not telling me he told me. If that makes sense.
So, the re-org that took place 6 or so months ago has been un-done and Mr. Pissy Pants has gone somewhere else to irritate others. Yeah!
In other work related news – I taught my first classes for the tool we are rolling out. I was pretty nervous through the whole thing – but by the fourth class I started to feel better. I had a partner in crime for the series and she tended to talk a lot more than I did. I was there for the tool; she was there for all the other “stuff.” Now, looking back, I think I would have done fine on my own and taken a lot less time to get the message across – but I wasn’t ready to take that plunge yet. I am feeling better about teaching.
They have delayed the “final” roll out of the tool and haven’t told us what the new date is, so I will have to schedule some make-up classes at some point. That will be fun for sure!
I know I said…
I know I said I would be giving an account of the wedding, telling stories about what I thought and felt during the “Big Day” but I can’t seem to get it written in the way that I want to. I think it might have something to do with how close I am to the event emotionally, but also it has to do with the people involved.
A few notes:
- My grandfather walked me down the aisle. Since my father died when I was younger, I had always envisioned my grandfather taking on this task. It was just as I had dreamed it to be. He looked so great in his tux, and smiled at me in the way that only my grandfather can. He even had a little tear in his eye when he saw me in my dress.
- A man who has known me since I can remember, Tom, came out for the wedding. I hadn’t seen him in a very long time. The last event we had attended together was his wedding to his beautiful Bonnie. They both came out for the wedding and it was so wonderful to see the two of them. I didn’t get a chance to really talk to Bonnie, but I got to spend some time with Tom and even danced with him. I was so happy that they came out from Sunny Florida to be here.
- The ceremony was beautiful. Our Internet Minister was fabulous. I am so glad we went that route instead of having someone up there who knew nothing about us.
- Our cake was gorgeous. Prettier than the picture. When we walked into the reception hall and saw it I was amazed. I hear that it tasted really good as well. We got a couple of bites, but that was it. Neither of us felt up to eating cake!
- The entire day was as perfect as I could have dreamed it to be. Besides a few “incidents” it was a great time.
