Ah crap…

I’m one of “them.”
Today I was forced to make a sign.
AAAHHHHH!
It’s a short story.  Basically our group has a really nice color printer.  The floor admin refuses to pool our printer with all the other ordering he does, so we aren’t sharing the costs of the toner like we should.  In retaliation, when the printer ran out of ink, we didn’t change it to see who would get upset.  We then told those groups that they don’t share in the costs and shouldn’t be mapped to our printer.  One group conceded to our demands and will now share the costs.  The other groups haven’t answered.  I was forced to make a sign signifying the break in territory and requesting the opposing groups to cease and desist.  I have officially become one of “them.” The sign makers.  The territorialists.

In other news, a really cool ex-coworker took a trip to Ireland and brought me back this:

It’s a squishy!  To add to my collection!  He totally rocks!

Events and adventures(almost)!

The weekend was off to an early start with the Seattle International Beer Festival Friday afternoon.  We arrived 30 minutes early and they opened the gates 15 minutes late.  It’s a good thing the majority of beer drinkers are basically lazy or the festival may have had a riot on their hands.  We finally got in and started the drinking frenzy.
I made the classic mistake of not eating right before drinking and found myself very tipsy after my 5th sample.  I had to hold on to remain standing.  After it was discovered that more beer didn’t help the situation, we went in search of food.  Good Mexican food.  Yummy, yummy Mexican food.  It helped the drunk situation immensely.  We then got on a bus and headed back to Ballard.
Saturday we went to watch the Mariners lose.  Again.  It was an okay game, the tickets were free, and we had stopped for drinks before the game so didn’t feel the need to purchase lots of over priced beer.  After the game we headed back to the beer festival to use the tickets we were unable to use the night before.  We sighted the Rat City Roller Girls there and stopped to chat with them and tell them how much we love them.  It was fun.  Then we headed back to Ballard for a quiet night of watching a movie and sleeping.  Ah wonderful sleep.
Sunday wanted to be exciting but that didn’t work out.  Originally we were supposed to meet Freeman’s mom for lunch, then Kevin and Tracey called as their truck had broken down.  Freeman and I rushed to get ready and rescue them, only to find that they re-started the car and it worked.  As we were ready for action, we decided to head out anyway and ended up and One Eyed Jacks Roadhouse.  We had lunch and played some darts before heading back for naps.
Monday was just as relaxed as we were hoping.  We did as little as possible all morning.  About 1pm we headed to the locks to watch the boats for awhile.  That was fun, I really enjoyed watching the boats coming and going through the locks.  I could have stayed all day!
Monday night we watched the fireworks from my apartment.  I have a great view of them from my balcony, so we turned up the TV and watched the show!
I took yesterday off from work and did some cleaning.  It was a nice relaxing weekend.

Things I did at work today

1. Sent an email to my team regarding an online survey someone else created (Hey!  Go Do It!)
2. Sent an email to my team regarding the color printer and the fact that it has no ink so I turned it off
3. Spent 20 minutes standing in front of a different printer trying to get it to print, I succeeded in turning off the annoying beep (only to be asked to turn it on again) but didn’t fix the issue
4. Spent 20 minutes telling someone that if they wanted to use our color printer they needed to help pay for the toner, they agreed so I wrote an email about it
5. Printed off a bunch of stuff I am supposed to be working on so I will be ready to work on it Wednesday when I return to work
6. Deleted old email
7. Conversed with my fellow team mates
8. Got engrossed looking at the “new” products offered by Lego
9. Surfed the net for News, Current Events, Apartment Listings and Belly Dance classes
10. Had a short meeting with my teammates
11. Left for the Seattle International Beer Festival

I was busy…
