tidbits
I have lots of little tidbits today - but I also have a ton of meetings - so I will do my best to get everything down...I live in Seattle. The water isn't that great. I was starting to think that the water wasn't too bad.
I've had a filter on my sink since I moved in. Not the same filter, mind you I have changed it before. I didn't wait as long to change it last time as I did this time though. I shouldn't have waited.
When the filter popped out of the little holder big chunks of brown gooey looking stuff came out.
I'm SO GLAD I have a water filter
All About Me
All About MeI'm wearing my yellow sweater.
This yellow sweater would be one that I ABSOLUTELY HAD TO HAVE. Mom and I were shopping one afternoon, probably 3 or 4 years ago when I was "thin." I wanted a sweater. Not just any sweater but THE PERFECT YELLOW SWEATER. I don't usually wear yellow. The wrong shade of yellow will make me look sick. The right shade of yellow is hard to find. Regardless, we were out shopping. It soon turned into a quest for THE PERFECT SWEATER and I must have tried on dozens. As in any quest it had to be PERFECT, JUST RIGHT and MAKE ME LOOK WONDERFUL. Mom pulled a yellow sweater off the racks. I looked at it and thought, well maybe. I tried it on and thought, oh yeah. This is the one. Mom's only question, "Will you wear it?" Of course! I replied. And what else would I have said when facing myself into he mirror in THE PERFECT YELLOW SWEATER?
Right, so, a year later and a bit heavier I didn't feel so perfect in the yellow sweater. It showed things that I didn't want it to show. It didn't fit just right. It was no longer the perfect yellow sweater. It went on a shelf, it got packed away, it stayed on the shelf, it stayed packed away. I tried it on every now and then to see if I had changed enough to wear it. I hadn't.
Today, I am VERY happy to say, I am wearing the PERFECT YELLOW SWEATER with pride and an absolute joy of having gotten myself back into good enough shape to feel great in my yellow sweater. Happy Friday!

Bitchin in the kitchen
Bitchin in the kitchenIn any work place, you can walk into the floor kitchen and get a good understanding of the employees that work on the floor. At least the passive aggressive ones. In my former workplace there were messages taped on microwaves, fridges, walls, cabinets, you name it and there was a message about it. I breathed an easy sigh of relief when I came to this floor and saw no messages. The kitchen appeared to be a passive aggressive free zone - and perhaps somewhere I could cook my food, get my water, and even eat in silence.
No longer is that the case - today there was a sign posted and I am almost offended by it:
"Listen up, the ol' Gunny's gonna give it to ya straight with no chaser!
If you take the last of the coffee, MAKE MORE!
And a little bitty skim on the bottom DON"T COUNT!
If you use it up, replace it!
Take the paper roll of the holder and put a new roll on it!
Go to the other kitchen if you have to - you could use the exercise, if you know what I mean!
and what in blazes is stinkin' up the refrigerators?
If you put something in there and it is coming back to life, kill it and dump it!
We may have a few miracles around here, but not in there!
Now, if there are no questions, carry on!"
Forget it - after re-reading it with all the colloquialisms and grammar errors I am offended. I am sure they meant to be funny - but it's just offensive. And to top it off they used the color printer to make copies.
A New Love?
A New Love?I think so!
Just got back from lunch with Rob and he took me over to a place called "Shy Giant." They sell frozen yogurt, ice cream, all those lovely treats. I have seen this place a few times but I have never stopped. Today we stopped. Oh Man! I found a new love!
White Chocolate Caramel Ice Cream.
It's the perfect mixture of sweet without over doing it. (Well, it would probably be over the top for most, but I like sweets to be SWEET) It's perfect. I savored every bite. And it would go great with coffee too. Yummy yummy coffee.

Tuesday…
Tuesday...I was thinking of jotting notes on all the things I have been up to - but that would just take too long. If you want the full story you can email me and I will send it to you - otherwise...Onto today!
I have written and written today - this is my 3rd try.
Blogger isn't working for me today - so I'm going to try again tomorrow - sorry :(
