Sick
SickThis weekend was - well - okay, except for the fact that I was sick all day Sunday. I did finish two novel this weekend, watched several movies, worked on a blanket, took a load of my belongings to my mother's and slept. Slept a lot. I think I would have slept more if it were possible. In fact, I would very much like to be sleeping now. But I can't do that, cause I am at work. Not that anyone would care if they stopped by to see me and found me crashed out on my desk. They would probably wake me up and tell me to go home. Which I would, if I could get there any faster than just waiting for my normal time to leave and leaving. At this time, it is just easier to wait for 4:30, catch the train and drive home. It's the walk to the train station that is going to kill me. I just know it.
On the bright side, Rob came by with desert bars at lunch - cause "brad's kids" are all working so hard that they deserve a treat. I have to say that it looked and tasted much better than anything I had to eat at that time. Probably better than anything else I will get this week.
I got this link today : http://home.tele2.fr/kcv/pinguin.swf
I have been sending it out to people - the response has been incredible! I can't believe you people! You are WAY to excited about hitting poor little penguins! The highest I have gotten is 319 - but my co-workers are actually sending me screenshots of the best scores they can get!

Friday….
Friday....Have you ever fond yourself in the middle of a good book only to realize that you have no time to read it? Then find yourself sneaking time, like on your lunch break, to read only to find out that more work is being placed on your desk because people have seen you reading? It is so unfair. But I know what I am doing later.
I'm reading.
Hmm....
The rest of the week went pretty good. I went to the Flower and Garden Show last night. It was really cool. I'm not a huge flower and garden person, my allergies and aversion to getting dirt under may nails prevents that. But I really like this show. It has to be one of the most awesome things I have ever seen. What they do is put together 20 or so gardens and then set them up in this huge convention center. I wish that I could really and actually describe what it is like to walk into a huge room and see 20 and 30 Ft trees in huge gardens with waterfalls, vegetable patches, decks, and more fresh flowers than you can take. And those are just the main gardens. There are other, smaller gardens, flower arrangements, displays of every kind... It is really an incredible thing to see. And I personally think it is one of those things that every person should see at least once. For nothing else than to see the artistry and appreciate the work that was completed.
Currently I have no plans for the weekend. I think that is just fabulous. I don't know why, but I have been super tired lately. So this weekend I would like to just hang out and not do a whole lot. Maybe I'll talk someone into going to the movies with me. Maybe not

Shhhh….
Shhhh....I am sitting very quietly in my chair with the vague hope that if I stay extra quiet no one will come give me more work to do. I haven't had a lot to do over the last couple of days - okay, yesterday and today. And I am really scared about how much work I am going to get to do tomorrow. I know there are lots of things coming... and I am excited to be doing them... but at the moment the almost total silence is making me feel nice and calm. I like feeling calm.
This morning people were running around talking, worrying... well it has been that way all day until now. I actually had a few things to get done this morning and spent an hour or so going over something with someone - the Web Based Training stuff with Sarah. Which is really cool. I guess even more than figuring out how to do it on my own, I like to help other people figure it out. And I want her to have another skill. Cause skills are good to have. And I like sharing my knowledge. I don't like takin things to the bus with me.... (if you are wondering about that comment, see Freeman's blog from yesterday) So I share as much as I can.
Oh man... I just realized what I SHOULD be doing! Ack! Working!

Happy Ground Hog Day!
Happy Ground Hog Day!What the heck? What were people smokin' to come up with the idea at that a small furry animal could predict the weather? Ahhh.... I just found this site What in the Heck is Groundhog Day Anyway?. It's a German thing. That explains it. Basically it is all about the sun coming out on a certain day. Which just seems Kooky if you ask me. But the sun wasn't shining in Pittsburgh today. So there will be 6 more weeks of winter. The sun wasn't shining in Seattle this morning either...
Today is also Imbloc, Imbolg, Oimelc or Candlemas, depending on who you are and what you believe. This is the day to welcome the coming of Spring. Which is pretty cool if you ask me. Since we are expecting at least two more months of crazy weather, it is a good reminder that spring will come eventually and the flowers and sun will be out
Hmmm.... The weekend was good. I worked on Saturday and checked in several times on Sunday to see if anything was broken. Things seem calm this morning... of course that is just my neck of the woods. There are lots of people running around like crazy, and I will be running around later this week. Right now, though, it is nice and calm. Saturday night Freeman and I were Trivial Pursuit champions! Sunday we took a load of my stuff over to my mom's house (where I will be moving for about a month.) I'm trying to get stuff over there in little loads. That way things are more manageable. I have lots of stuff though - so it is important to me to make progress on the whole moving thing. Plus I know that at least half my weekends from now on will probably be spent in the office trying to make sure things are all kosher. Regardless, it was good to get some stuff moved.
The rest of Sunday was all about the Superbowl. I was over at Freeman's house. There was SO much food it was crazy! Good stuff though. And from what I can tell we will be eating it for the next week
Hmmm.... I guess it is time to get back to my Monday morning!!
