Monday…
Monday...Does it have to be Monday? Can't I somehow declare another Sunday? I really think that any day after a time change should be a holiday. I do realize that it happens over the weekend, but I think we should have an extra day. Even if we did somehow gain an hour (which I am still trying to figure out) I think I should have another day.
Ahhh...... this weekend was great.
Saturday - went searching for water repellent stuff. And detergent free washer stuff. Headed over to REI and there was this HUGE line that went clear around the building. We were like, what the??? So we went to breakfast. We thought the crowd would have died down when we got there about an hour later, but the line was still around the building. That was when we realized that there was some weird sale going on for "REI Members" and we could get into the store just fine. It was a light bulb moment let me tell you.
Saturday afternoon was spend drinking and watching sporting events. We were supposed to go to Tiki Bob's, but they were closed! Which turned out fine cause we ended up at some little hole in the wall (at least during day time hours) watching the game, drinking, and eating lil smokies and veggies! It was great! We were practically the only ones in the bar and the bartender was super friendly. Then we headed uptown for a hockey game. That was fun as well! They won in OT! The crowd went wild!
Sunday was another fab day. Got up and ate breakfast fairly early then went grocery shopping! This was a first in a VERY long while for me. My kitchen was getting bare! No more! Now I have food! I just have to eat it all....
Then went over to Freeman's, picked him up and traveled to mom's house for her B-day party. She loved her afghan - immediately cuddled up in it. I am glad she liked it. It wasn't that easy to make, but it was pretty. I just need to remind her to take a pic for posterity (and my collection)
Got home fairly early last night and just crashed out. I was pretty tired from all the running around. Probably still recovering today!

FRIDAY!!!
What is it about Ice Cream and Root Beer that makes such a delicious combination? I don't know for sure but I am very happy to be having one right now!FRIDAY!!!
Happy day! ummm... lovin it! I have been able to catch up on tons of stuff at work. Which is great because next week looks like another killer week! Had a bagel and coffee for breakfast, the only sad thing is the bagel lady is looking for a new job. Very sad. Lunch was great! Went to Red Robin with Maggie - whom I haven't seen in months now. She is doing well, which is nice to hear.
Otherwise, I am just planning on sliding into the weekend! Not a lot of work to get done this afternoon...
The weekend looks busy, but I am sure it will be fun! Heading out with Freeman and his friend Evan. Then Sunday is mom's birthday. I have a little bit left to finish on her blanket and then I am good to go! I just have to bake a cake Sunday morning! Who hoo!

Nancy Kerrigan?
Nancy Kerrigan?Work hasn't been that great today. I have had a lot to do and am starting to feel the pressure. Knowing that pressure will just build without a break, I decided to go for a walk. Since there is a Ross right up the street, I decided I should stop and see what I could do about my Halloween costume. I mean, I have the wig, but what else should I wear?
So - there I was, walking up and down the isles at Ross, hoping that inspiration would hit, and what do I see? I see a man in the dress section trying to pull this evening gown over his head. He glanced over and saw me and said, "It's for Halloween, it isn't a fetish, I swear!" I laughed, cause that was what I was there for as well.
It got worse though, he proceeded to try on another dress and ask me, "Does this make me look fat? God, I can't believe I am a 14!" How does one really re-act to that? I told him to remember that he was wearing regular clothes underneath and that will always make you look fatter, you know extra layers and all...
Then I got to hear all about these great boots he found and the tights... If he didn't mention the blood and the pipe (cause Nancy got hit in the knees, remember?) I might have started to worry.
It did make me realize something... My current idea for a Halloween costume is very lame. Maybe I should have bought that baby pink velour jumpsuit after all...

inner peace
Sometimes I am struck with this feeling of peace. It is an inner peace. Sometimes it comes on so strong that I can't help but stop what ever I am doing and look out a window, stand still on a street corner, or just sit quietly and let the feeling wash over me.Today is not one of those times. Though I am extremely happy to be very busy. And so far it is not so overwhelming that I don't think I can do what I have to do. Right now I am enjoying the challenge.
It was raining like crazy yesterday, as most people in Seattle know. I was laying in bed last night, procrastinating against actually falling asleep, and heard a ton of noise outside. So I got up and looked out the window. The apartments across the street were flooded! There was a fire truck working as a pump to get the water out. The flow to the parking lot was amazing! It was covering about 1/3 of a car's tires across the street!
Makes me glad I live on the 3rd floor.

Out of Steam….
Out of Steam....I started working on the commute in this morning. Bad idea. I was raring to go when I got in and now, with an hour left in my day, I am out of steam. That and I worked through lunch. Which normally doesn't happen. Just because I normally don't have that much work to do. But today I did. Do. Still do. I have plenty to keep me busy... Which is a good thing
So, the positively negative woman in my department is beginning to be a bit of a bother. There are these things, we call them CRPs, that take place for our project. They are a fairly big deal and we invite 50 to 60 people to attend. This time around I couldn't find a room with a LAN connection. My boss and I have been working on a solution for this problem. We finally figured out that we could VPN in and get to the Demo we were looking for. Yeah! So now I just needed to find a room. That was at 8:30 am this morning. I had a meeting that started at 9 am. So, I do my things that absolutely have to get done before the meeting and then go.
By the time I got back, the positively negative woman had written several people a "nastygram" regarding the fact that no one was responding to the need to get the invite out and proceeded to book the CRPs into this tiny, really horrid conference room. She also told the people who had been booked in that room that they would have to find another place for their meetings. (the truth of which I seriously question since I had a meeting in that room and she never mentioned anything to me.)
Which brings me to my next gripe (and yes I am venting!) The positively negative woman, though she has been told countless times to work with me, never once talked to me about what she was doing. She never asked me if I found a room or what progress was being made. I was supposed to do the scheduling, but she took it upon herself to do it.
And she wonders why life is so bad?
Now, unfortunately, we will have to re-send all the invites that she sent out because I found a room! And I will get to hear all about the fact that she will have to do this. Thank god for meetings, at least I can be away from my desk some of the time she is griping...
Oh - the REALLY funny part about this, she doesn't work "with" me on projects she is supposed to work with me on, and she only sits 10 feet away. She never talks to me about issues, or asks about things, she just sends these emails and sits and waits for a response.
Okay - done griping.
The weekend was great!
I worked on Mom's blanket and am almost done. Well I think I am almost done - I really can't make that judgment till I get through one more scan of yarn - but I think I am close to completion. Yeah!
I also got to go to a Seahawks game on Sunday. We headed down early and had a little cookout before heading to the game. It rained on us a little, but the game was clear! It was so much fun! We played the Bears and beat them... good thing to. The Bears haven't had a good season so far - it would have been sad to lose to them at home. I had so much fun at the game!!!!
