Feeling Fruity…

You are a Pomegranate...unconventional, unique, and
just a little bit tart...you know how to make a
lasting impression and often do so with your
zest for life…

What Kind of Fruit Are You?
brought to you by Quizilla

After another “successful” night of rowing on Tuesday, I woke up yesterday and noticed some rather mysterious bruises on my body.  This led me to think about fruit, how easily some fruit bruises, and what type of fruit I would be.  I’m not sure the Pomegranate fits my current feelings of being easily bruisable as “The tough, leathery skin or rind is typically yellow overlaid with light or deep pink or rich red.” Yeah, I’m not so tough or leathery.

On another note, Girl Scouts are evil.  Being a former Girl Scout I think I can safely express this opinion.  Who the heck sells you a box of cookies where the serving size is 2 cookies?  What are they thinking?  And these cookies are small too!  I mean really!  I would much rather not have cookies at all then feel bad for eating half the package, think to myself ‘wonder what the serving size is’, and look at the package to realize I’ve already had 3 servings.  Grrr.

Silly Me

All the trees are in bloom, their lovely flowers spreading cheer.
The flowers are breaking out of the ground as well, daffodils showing their happy faces!

With all of this blooming why did it take till this morning for me to notice my slightly stuffy head, runny nose and itchy eyes?  You would think after 20-some years with allergies it would click in my head that blooming plants equals constant sneezing.

And I thought I was catching a cold.

I’m sorry

If you were wondering what happened to that 7 acres of rainforest that was chopped down to make paper today, that was me.  I am really sorry.  I don’t WANT to make so many copies, I push back as much as I can.  I do know that NO ONE reads what I print and it’s all a waste.  Unfortunately, my current job requires me to kill trees.
I feel really bad about it.
I really do.

IM Junkies

I work with a bunch of IM junkies.
Seems there was another outbreak of the same virus that hit IM a couple of weeks ago.  Last time IM was down for almost two days, this time we more fortunate.  They were able to fix the problems by noon.
In the time it took them to fix the issues I received no less than 5 emails from 5 different people stating that IM was down.  Talk about IM junkies.  Half the people who wrote to me never IM me to begin with.  They are on my contact list, I believe that I am on theirs, but we don’t regularly utilize IM to communicate.
Once IM was restored I was involved in 6 IM conversations.  Normally I don’t IM THAT much.  I do spend a fair amount of time IMing people, but usually I try to spread it out so I am not talking to everyone all at once.  It can become difficult to converse with 3 people at once all about different things.  And, inevitably, when this is happening my phone rings.  Today it was both lines.
IM junkies I’m telling you, I’m surrounded!

Bits of Randomness…

Obviously trying to work a full day after spending more days that I can count goofing off is expecting too much.
Especially when it’s Friday.

So, I’m not going to.

Randomness #1
When the Boss Lady left, she left behind a cutting from a plant for the new guy.  She wanted him to have something green in his office.  Knowing that the new guy wouldn’t keep something alive, let alone a cutting that would eventually require planting, I grabbed it and stuck it at my desk.  After I finished cleaning up the rest of her office I took a good look at the cutting.  Hhhmmm…the roots were turning black.  Not a good sign.
So I dumped the water out, gave it fresh water and stuck a bit of paper towel in the vase.
Since then, it has grown several sets of new roots and it popping out a new leaf!  Pretty soon it will be ready for actual dirt!  It’s due to that little bit of paper towel.  I don’t know why I put it in the vase; it’s something my grandmother taught me to do.  All I know is it works, and soon I will have a new plant!  Now I just have to name it.

Randomness #2
I was talking to someone about my new position and the fact I am moving to another building.  This will be my 5th building and technically my 5th position in under three years with the same company.  The person I was talking to had also moved around a lot (of course he has been with the company considerably longer) and asked me if I like where I am going.  I said yes, and that I really didn’t like my current floor.
Right after I said that, the crazy lady who sits across from me gasped.
I wanted to call her on it, but I didn’t.  After all I won’t be sitting across from her for much longer (YEAH!)

Randomness #3
What Kind of Dog are You?
I had no idea I was a Shar-Pei!
