Wonder Cat…

Wonder Cat...

Last night, just as I was falling asleep, I heard this strange noise coming from my balcony. I should say 4th floor balcony. I got up to check and see what it was and realized that I had left the screen door open. Soon after I realized that the cat was gone.
Horrified I checked the living room, looked under the bed, checked the shower, looked again just to make sure. Gone. I ran downstairs, searching, looking at the ground, calling her name... She was gone.
I called Freeman, made him come over and look through the apartment, made him walk with me around the neighborhood. Gone. She was gone.
To say I was distraught was to put it lightly. I was bordering on hysterical.
Finally I calmed down enough to at least lay down. Though I didn't really sleep. I was exhausted. I was worried. She is such a little thing. Where could she be? How could she just be gone?
I couldn't lay in the bed anymore. It was 3 in the morning. I had been out on the balcony several times throughout the night - looking, checking...
I sat on the futon. I was in shock. How? Why? Was she dead? Did she land in the trees below? Was she hurt? She was alone, she must be so scared....
I must have dozed on the futon.
Suddenly I heard this cry. It was Cleo. She was downstairs. She was outside. I flew downstairs - she was on the other side of the fence. I got her to come to me - picked her up and clutched her as I carried her into the apartment building.
She was okay. She sprained her knee and is bruised and a little emotionally battered. She's okay. She's home.
Freakin Cat. What was she thinking? I live on the 4th floor! I swear, she must be watching too much TV when I am not home...

Needless to say, she isn't allowed on the balcony until I figure out a way to Kitty Proof it. No way. Not having this happen again any time soon. I get the feeling she agrees as she won't come out from under the bed.

Big, no HUGE thanks to Freeman for coming to my rescue.

Big Sigh….

Big Sigh....

Did I mention that my boss is on vacation? Did I mention that the rest of my team is out of the office at a conference? Did I mention that I get a whole week to catch up on my work and I don't have to do ANY of it at home because I have time to do it at work?

Don't know if I mentioned the fact that I have decided to go back to school. Ack. Yes. School. For a Masters in something or other. Most likely and MBA - just straight off the shelf outta the box MBA. It will take between 2 and 3 years to complete. And I am jumping out of my skin in excitement. Can't you tell? Well, I really am. I LOVE school. There is something about the smell of a brand new textbook... ahhhhh....

So I'm taking the GMAT next week. I'm kind of excited about that as well. It's such a challenge, people build careers on helping other people prep for this test. How great is that? We will see how I do on it. I decided to take advantage of the quiet and lack of boss to take the test. Fun times ahead!

Wow! Leanne just told me that she is getting induced tomorrow. That is so incredible! I'm so excited for her - she will have a new little one to take care of. Yeah! Jack Dillon will be joining the world soon!

hhhmmmm.....

Perhaps a weekend update is in order?
Saturday I went on a HUGE bike ride. It was so much fun! Kept a pretty steady pace and ended up riding between 20 - 25 miles. By then end I was pretty tuckered out, but the ride itself was fab! Hung out with Maggie in her new place Saturday night. She had done yard work all day. Between the two of us we were rowdy let me tell you! It's fun though, she lives just up the street from me, a quick 10 minute bus ride! She is close to some kick ass looking bars too. One of these nights we'll have to make our way into them....

Sunday was kickball. We were only supposed to play one game but I arrived to find out we had a DOUBLE HEADER. Whoo hooo! It was really fun. We had just enough players since most of our team didn't show up. We tied the first game and then won the second game 6-4. I ran and ran and played as hard as I could. It was fun. Did I mention it was fun? Cause it was. hehehehe

That's about it for now. I'm getting caught up on stuff at work and also have some time to develop some solutions to issues we were/ are having. Fun times I say - Fun times!

Dead Couple to Be Married

Dead Couple to Be Married

Oddly Enough News Article | Reuters.com

JOHANNESBURG (Reuters) - A South African man who shot his pregnant fiance dead before killing himself will be posthumously married to her at the weekend.
Police Captain Mohale Ramatseba said David Masenta shot 25-year-old Mgwanini Molomo after a quarrel before turning the gun on himself. But Johannesburg's Sowetan newspaper said family and friends wanted to remember them as a happy couple destined for a happy life together.

The groom's corpse would be dressed in a cream suit and his bride's in a gown for the ceremony, at which a priest in the rural village of Ceres in Limpopo will bless the union before the two are buried, the Sowetan said.

"In African culture, there is no death -- there is merely the separation of body and soul," said cultural expert Mathole Motshekga. "It is also important because the families are married together."

"This does not mean the relationship has irretrievably broken down."

What I really enjoyed about this article is the last line "This does not mean the relationship has irretrievably broken down." Am I the only one who noticed that HE SHOT HER???

Her: Okay - mumble mumble mumble, new diet, lose weight fast....

Me: Lose weight Fast?

Her: Just looking at my morning spam... lose weight and get a college degree!

Me: and a loan!

Her: And a larger Penis!

Me: for that cute girl next store!

Her: And her dog...

Me: *silence*

Her: Okay, I digress, see you in a few minutes!

Me: Okay... bye...
